The iOS 16 setup screen is liable to drive me to drink: several questions.

Hi,
When you update to a new version of iOS, what's the best way to get rid of that ridiculously frustrating spinning globe? Or as I like to call it, the spinning globe of doom, lol. I have an iPhone 14 pro, and I can't seem to select hello fast enough, and just double tap on it, as I had in previous iOS versions prior to 16.

Also, after you complete the setup screen, how do you do the "swipe up to get started"? No matter what I do, swiping up doesn't work for me, it brings up the app switcher, and I just wound up closing the setup app. And I think that was a mistake on my part, because after updating to iOS 16.1, and just squelching the setup app from my app switcher in place of swiping up to get started, it put most of my apps in a state of waiting. I've spent all afternoon reinstalling the apps that were in a "waiting" state.
So can someone possibly give me some tips on avoiding these issues before new iOS updates come out?
Thank you for any help

You should be able to touch at the bottom of the screen and hear a sound, then move your finger up until you hear a slightly higher pop, then release your finger. 3 pops is app switcher, 2 is home, 1 is to let you know you've started the action.

When it says swipe up to continue, it's referring to when you use to press the home button.

As for the language thing, it's just a carousel it doesn't matter what language it's speaking when you double tap, at least, in my experience it always defaults to english.

When I updated to iOS 16, I didn't get the setup screen. There was just the normal lock screen.

Maybe it depends on the model you're using and if there's something extra that needs to be configured.
