Hi all,
I am a completely blind voice-over user (iPhone 17, iOS 26.5.2, latest Instagram update) and I used to enjoy following friends and family on Instagram. However, for a month or so, voice-over stopped reading text within Instgram stories completely. It will mention the like, previous story, next story etc buttons, but not the text stickers within stories. It will also not read the photo descriptions it used to give. Is anyone else experiencing this issue? Does anyone have tips on how to fix this, or is it something we can only report to Instagram and hope they will fix it in a next update?

Having the same issues
Hi, I've been experiencing this problem for awhile now, I barely use Instagram anymore because of it. The apps constantly getting updated but none of the issues seem to be getting resolved. I'm also struggling with reading the whole caption on reels, every time I go to click the ellipsis it opens the comments. I'm unable to swipe through photos as well, the app feels unusable right now to be honest.
what I do instead
I notice that too. I tell Siri to describe my screen. It asks if I want it to send the screenshot to ChatGPT, I say yes, and then it describes it. Takes longer, but that's what I do for now until iOS 27 when we get the VoiceOver image descriptions.
