iCloud backup question.

iOS and iPadOS

Hi all, Got my new iPhone mini earlier in July. I am still getting a notification that the phone cannot be backed up to iCloud. Is Apple wanting me to buy more storage? I also read that (and maybe I misunderstood) but that it could take up to 180 days for my old phone stuff to not be in iCloud? So should I wait or do I really need to buy more storage? Also I think my phone said I had 2.5 of 5.00 Gb. Thanks for any help.

Locked and plugged in overnight?

You may be able to back it up if you leave your phone locked and plugged in overnight. Alternatively, you could do a backup now in settings, or you could turn off automatic backups and do them manually wen you want. Open up settings and see what you find.

Good luck!

Yes. Plugged in over night and locked. The next morning, I get the notification info above.
