I have just purchased two extremely lengthy books from iTunes. Is there a way to make VoiceOver read all the content... automatically turning the pages as the Kindle Keyboard does? I am running iOS6 on the new fifth generation iPod Touch.

Hi. Yes you can. Open the book you want to read. Then select the 'Appearance' option to open this menu. Then select 'Themes' and change the selection from 'Book' to 'Scroll'. This allows you to read the book as one continuous scroll. HTH

wow, i didn't know you could do that; I ajusted nothing; I simply just go into the book, do a two finger swipe down to read from the cursor and away she goes, automatically turning the page with the sound and continuing on without my doing anything.

I'm not sure but I think my iBooks is already set to the Scrolling option. In any case, how do you get out of the Appearance menu? I don't see a back button or anything, and basically have to go back to the home screen and start the app over again.

Hi ALl, I want to nip a misconception in the bud before it causes confusion. The first poster mentions needing to go into the Appearance settings and changing an option to enable a continuous scroll. THis is not necessary, and in fact will cause aggravation, as the speech does not track properly and has a tendency to skip pages. Instead, all one need do is tap on the text of the book, and swipe down with two fingers. This will start continuous reading, and turn the pages as you would expect. To stop, tap with two fingers.

Hi, to get out of the menu i usually have to switch from lanscape to portrate and back again. It might be worth switching to the smallest font size and changing your font for the following reason: when reading continuously with the two finger swipe, VoiceOver turns the pages for you which is all well and good. However, there is a pause while it does this. By making the font smaller and changing the actual font, you decrease the size of text and therefore you can fit more on a page, which will make the page count lower and speed up your reading. When I am at my phone I will check my font for you if you are interested.
