how to write french special characters such as ç à è`î û ô ö ï ü ù using french keyboard

iOS & iPadOS

Hello everyone, I have a french keyboard installed on my iphone 7. However, I do not know how to write the special french characters mentioned in the subject line. The only french character that I see there is é. However, I have no idea how to write other accented french characters on my iphone 7. I am totally blind using voiceover. Thank you for your response. Comment ça va? I'm using the English US keyboard to type out the French accents in this post. To type a French accent hold with one finger on a letter until you hear a sound similar to the sound when you move an app to another place. For example the letter c. Voice Over will say Alternative characters, slide to the right to discover alternative characters, and lift with one finger on the French accent you want. The French accent will be inserted into your text.

Under the French keyboard setting set the French keyboard to Qwerty Y. When you set it to the Qwerty Y setting you can type the French characters as I described in my previous post. Hope thiss helps!
