How to remove apps from the purchased apps list?

I guess like most people I try all sorts of apps many of which are not quite what you think and don't work well with VoiceOver.

I delete them on the device which of course puts them into the Purchased items (or as the speech will have it "purcases"). I now have about 40 pages of these altogether and would like to perminantly delete some of them, Can this be done and how?

You can hide apps via iTunes

The best that you can do is to hide the apps that you don't want to appear on the list.

You used to be able to do this on your iDevice, but this feature is currently not available under iOS 6 (basically you would swipe right across the name of an app to reveal a 'Hide' button).

For now, the only way to do this is via iTunes on your Mac or PC. I've not done this myself, but there's a thread on the Apple Support Forum that explains the process:
