iOS and iPadOS

In two weeks time I plan to upgrade from iPhone 5C to the 6S. Already I murge contacts, calendar entries and reminders to iCloud. When I receive the 6S how do I then manage to transfer these mentioned entries from iCloud to phone. Is there a relevant podcast I can listen to. Please assist? For the last two years I found Applevis one of the best helpful sites ever created for the blind.

Simply make a backup on

Simply make a backup on iTunes to make sure there is no size restrictions.
Connect your old device, open itunes and select your iPhone. On the screen you're in choose create backup now, i'm not sure of the english translation.
You said you put your contacts on iCloud so they should automatically be on your new phone after loging in with your apple id.

iTunes backup

I always make iTunes backups because I can restore all my apps to new devices.

You can also pull from ICloud

If your backups are recent, you can also pull from ICloud as long as your backups aren't damaged in anyway. But, ITunes is also good to so that you do get everything freshly installed without any issues.

Three options for you

Basically, you can transfer data to new iPhone with iTunes or iCloud. Just backup your old iPhone and restore the your new iPhone from iTunes or iCloud backup when setting it up. It can be time consuming, and you cannot select what to restore or what not to.
So you can try AnyTrans, which helps transfer selected data from iPhone to iPhone quickly, without restoring.
