GPS On An iPod Touch 5th Generation

Is it possible to run GPS apps on an iPod Touch 5th Generation using an external GPS receiver? If so, does anyone know of an app with route recording capabilities (i.e., has bread crumb feature) that would work well for walking and can be used successfully with Voiceover on an iPod? Thanks! Dave V

GPS and the iPod

One can use GPS with the iPod assuming one has the right receiver since apple has it own bluetooth standard for GPS. Also, be advised that unless you have a network connection you won't be able to find POI's around you with navigation apps that don't store their data on the phone. Although this may not be exactly what you want, search for Ariadne GPS on applevis and the favorite feature may be close to what you are looking for.
