Garage Band: how to add 2 files and cut a file in 2 parts??

iOS and iPadOS

Hello Everyone,
when I record my podcast sometimes I record something in 2 files and I would like to be able to joint them in an only one file and in the opposite, sometimes I need to cut a file in 2 different partes for deleting the end, etc. So I thought that perhaps the best tool for doing it is Garage band, because it's an Apple native app. So, please, if someone knows how to do those 2 operations with Garage Band or if there is another easier way to do it, I would thank you very much if someone could record a podcast or write a tutorial about this matter. I know that someone called Paul wrote a tutorial in several parts about GArage BAnd, but it talks about creating a project, but in my case, I record the files with the Voicenotes in the Iphone and so I need Garage BAnd only to joint and cut the files. Please, if someone could help me, I will thank you very very much. Many thanks in advance.

Seconded. We need more…

Seconded. We need more podcasts or written guides for GB on iOS. I also have a voice memo that I had to record in two parts because my phone rang in the middle, and I want to combine them. I would think you could do this in GB, but I could be wrong.

Second tutorial

Hello María. Have you read the second tutorial of Paul’s series? I think there he explanes how to import files and he also explanes how to cut and make a new trak. To join two tracks you only need to be sure that the second track starts where the first ends;remember you can move back-and-forth the track cursor with comma and period, To set where you would like to paste it, Then when you import the whole project, it will sound as one.

Also read the comments of that second tutorial, I recall asking something related to your questions.

I understand you already have your records in the voice memos app, but I suggest to start recording your podcast directly from Garage Band, therefore you will scape one step.

Hth.
