Disappearing Status Bar on iOS

By Kevin Shaw, 11 July, 2021

Forum
iOS and iPadOS

I've noticed a few times that my status bar will become silent when touching the top of the screen. No time, battery, wi-fi or other information is spoken. Restarting VO does nothing. The only way I've been able to get the text to read again is to power cycle the phone.

As for what causes the status bar to go silent, I can't repeat this, however I do notice this occurring after fAceTime calls or phone calls.

Does anyone else have this issue?

iPhone 7. Latest iOS.

Have you tried turning off screen recognition, Kevin? It seems to be causing far more headaches than it is solving problems at this juncture. It's under settings > accessibility > voiceover >recognition. Please let us know whether or not it helps, as these reports serve to help the Applevis community of users in general.
