When dictating a text message or email, how can you insert punctuation? Do you just say period, question mark, comma, etc? Thanks.

That is exactly how you do it. I'd give a search on some dictation tips, but essaentially you would say comma, period, exclamation mark, quote etc. There are also commands to capitalize whole words, and a lot of emoticons can be dictated too.

Thanks so much, Remy_C! I'll do that when asking Seri to send messages or email.
