deleting email from gmail on IOS

Forum
iOS & iPadOS

hi I was wondering, how do you delete emails from gmail? All I see is either to forward, trash, mark, and other things to do with your email. Or do you have to go on a computer and delete them there? Thanks, and God bless.

Hi no you don't need to deleted from the computer.
okay there few voiceover gestures that you need to make the action.
the basic voiceOver gesture is
using one finger flick down or up, also there more options when you release this gesture for iOS8 but works for iOS 7 as well.
from inbox folder
on this screen where you could see all the messages list.
voiceOver focus should be on one message line
flick down
to iOS7
show two options
Archive
more...
press doble tab in archive
NOTE; for iOS 7 there no way to delete the messages but you could do it from the Gmail folders
when press archive button will move from the messages list but will not deleted.
in cace whenever flick and voiceOver doesn't announce the options mention above try doing this
use the voiceover gesture to bring the rotor
select actions
flick down
to move to the next items
flick up
to move to the previous iitem.
okay for iOS8
one of the new feature is allow delete messages to Gmail
from the inbox folder
on this new screen where are the message list
do the same gesture.
flick up or down or bring the voiceOver rotor gesture
select action
flick and continue flicking until
voiceOver announce to you
delete
press double tab using one finger and ready.
I hope it helps.

You mentioned you saw an option called Trash. That is your Delete option. Deleted emails are put in the Trash folder, which are removed automatically after a certain period of time.

Hi, I am new to G mail and have lots of emails with the same subject line, how can I select all after using the search box to then send them to the trash bin. I use voice-over as I am totally blind. Thank you for your help.
