Continuous Read in iBooks Sometimes Reads Extranious Page Footers

Sometimes, when reading a book in iBooks, there are page footers that iBooks might read if you ask VO to do a continous read. This can break the flow of the text. Does anyone have suggestions as to how to work around this? Thanks.
