I can use command tab to switch between open apps on my son's iPad but it doesn't work on my iPhone. Is this an iPad only shortcut or is there a way to enable it on the iPhone? I'm using a iPhone 6S on IOS 12.3.
I think Aple should enable this Shortcut for iPhones as well. I do not see any reason why they have to limit it to iPads.
As a VoiceOver user, at least you can use the four-finger swipe gesture. Swipe to the left or to the right in order to switch to the previous / next application.
Sadly, this does not always work reliably. But if it does, it‘^s definitely faster than switching using the App Switcher.
It was a function a long time back on the iPhone as well as the iPad... But it's become an iPad only feature and I'd imagine, with the recent separations of iPhone and iPad os, it probably won't ever return... Saying that, custom shortcuts coming up in IOS 13 may be a way around this.
