Being brutally honest, Youtube latest update really! sucks!

iOS & iPadOS

You guys know me by now; I don't sugarcoat things, even if it means making other's happy. I tell it like it is.

I'd therefore be curious if anyone else agrees that this latest Youtube update is absolutely disgusting! Before anyone says, it never has been that great, let me just say, before this update, I didn't have a single issue with it.

First off, I now finally am seeing the issue others talked about in another thread with voiceover going to the earpiece. Only difference is, for me, no matter what I do, turning off Voiceover and back on, restarting the app, restarting the phone, no matter what, I can't get it out of the earpiece.

Further, even when I play videos through the app, even their! audio comes through the earpiece, and not the internal speaker.

Further, when looking through a list of search results, I have to now listen to the duration of the video speak before it tells me the title of the video, which slows things down rediculously!

Boy, Google really dropped the bomb on this update! This is even worse than when they broke the rewind fast forward buttons a few builds back.

There is a reason why I rarely update apps by big name companies. If it works, there is no reason for me to do so. Plus, the tired, "bug fixes and improvements" line doesn't tell me anything worth while. Generally, I only update apps when I know what has actually been changed. It's a developer's job to make me excited over what's new, and if they're not willing to take five minutes to highlight why I should care, then I won't.
The version I'm on is completely bug free, so I'm fine with it.

Pin a rose on your nose. I wasn't asking if others were hesitant to update. I was asking if anyone has, and agrees it's not a pleasant experience at all.

youtube is suck for sure this time. but I found a work-around for the ear-peace issue. I hold the side button to call siri, and the problem solve!

Oh, you mean like, activate Siri, then once it dings to say it's listening, just get out of Siri and go back to the app? I'll have to try that. Still not idea, but if it works, it might be worth it until I get my hearing aids hopefully next week. Then, I won't have to worry about it, as everything'll come through them via MFI, so it won't be an issue.

The YouTube update is really disgusting, I personally don’t use YouTube on my phone because of this update instead I use my computer.
I did however, contacted google Accessibility about this issue twice, and they finally told me that a engineer from YouTube is working on a fix for this issue.

When I was on twitter yesterday, I took the oppurtunity to send google accessibility a tweet telling them about this issue. I will let you know if or when I have a reply from them.

It is true..
The last update is crap.

I have shortcuts for switching audio and after calling Siri and asking for sound on the iPhone it returns to normal.

My iPhone - Speaker
My Headphones - Headphones

I just loaded up YouTube Music, and no sound issue. You can still play videos on that app, so give it a shot if the main YT driving you nuts.
