Voice based adventure game looking for alpha testers
I am working on a game called Voice of the Ancients (VotA). In this game, you are looking for an ancient treasure while you are trying to escape from an evil organization, called Society of the Ancients.
VotA is totally voice-based adventure game, currently supporting english and hungarian languages.
If you want to try a one-level preview, you can install the game from this link:
I really appreciate any feedback you can provide.
In case of any problems or if you need any support, feel free to contact me. My email address is email@example.com.
I would love to help beta test, I have installed it from test flight. :)
Thank you for trying my game. I have just uploaded and updated version to fix the sapphyre bug in the pool chamber. Sorry for this issue.
hello the volume seems extremely quiet? how long will it take to complete this game? seems ok so far, liking the sounds
Thank you for trying my game. I have just uploaded a new version with a possible fix for the low audio volume. Can you try it for me? Unfortunately the effect of audio mode settings and voiceover for the playback volume is not well documented, and I have to use a trial and error approach. In my phone the current settings are much better, I am very interested about how it works for you.
I can complete this preview level in 15-20 minutes (I usually test it when I drive to my workplace using carplay), but if you complete it the first time, it may take about an hour. I haven't got any exact data, because currently I am the only person who completed the preview:-)
The Game is great and very interesting.
1. The game reminds me of a game that you would play with a google home or a Amazon echo.
2. I believe the audio is great sounds pretty loud to me.
3. The game gives you a feel of suspense when you’re going through every part of the game I believe this is a great attribute for suspense.
4. Overall great game and I did not notice any kind of bug affecting the game. I would keep playing his game when is fully released. Thank you for contributing to the game category.
Hi Brandon X,
You are the first one, who completed this preview level. Congratulations!
Could you help me with two questions:
- How long did it take to complete the level?
- Wasn't it too hard or frustrating?
I would say it took me about 35 minutes. Tip to all players. the help function is a great tool when you are lost.
just for your info i have installed game to my ipod touch 6 gen and will give it a spin latertoday
I just installed this the other day, and haven’t had much time to play it yet, but from what I’ve seen so far it sounds great. I’ve never played a game like this before, and I would definitely get it. Thank you so much for making this.
It is a very fun game. It took me a little while to complete, but I finished it.
Hi, thank you so much for the work you are doing. I would love to try it but unfortunately I don't understand English very much. Could you also add the Italian language? Thank you!
Currently I am working on this game as a one man army, and I am unfortunately not familiar with Italian. So adding Italian is not possible now. This is the reason why the game only supports English and Hungarian.
In the next step I want to finish the content of the first two chapters for these languages. I plan 3 chapters and this demo level is the final level of the first chapter. If the first and the second chapter will be ready, I will release the game to the App Store.
However my game engine fully supports localizations and I am searching new team members for content creation and porting the game to other platforms. If somebody with Italian knowledge will join, we can make an Italian translation too.
The Game and the Sounds are very nice. But could you translate into German Language?
Currently I am the only creator of this game and my knowledge of German is very limited. Currently I cannot make the translation. Later I want to get others to the team and if I can find a German speaking guy, we might create a translated version.
Two of you reported a serious bug in the game: You could get stuck in the room of the second statue, if you don't have the sapphire with you.
I fixed this bug today morning. It was a content issue and I already released the fix to my content server. If you play the game now it won't affect you, but if you are already locked in the room of the second statue and want to continue your adventure follow these steps:
- Just restart the app and select continue from the menu. The game downloads the new content (you don't have to reset your game)
-Put the diamond to the eye of the statue and pick it up again
-The door should open.
Best regards and sorry for this issue,
If you could sent me the Text of this Game, I translate it for you.
Hi I tried the game and you got me on pins and needles I can’t wait to see what happens next keep up the good work and let me know if I can help with anything
Thank you, I will send you a private message about it in the next days.
greetings i am eager for more chapters if they are added:) lovethe sounds
Thank you for your deep and extensive testing. Based on your feedbacks I fixed many annoying bugs. Some statistics:
- 45 of you started to play the game.
- 12 players are completed this preview level.
The above link will be available in the next 80 days, so if somebody want to try the game, it will be available. Meanwhile I start to develop the content of the full first chapter.
Thank you again,
Can you please add a skill to play this game with my Amazon echo deviceS? Also can I have some help to get back to where you turn the wheel from the statue room?
it was a pleasure testing this preview and i was one of the folks that finished the level, and can't wait for full chapters to come along
It sounds like you are off to a good start and that you have testers who are looking forward to more fun with your game. I just came across this today and have read all of the comments. I will go ahead and get the game and give it a try on my iPhone 8 plus running the latest version of firmware 12. Although it might be too soon for you to tell, do you have an estimated cost of our continuing with this game when it is available through the app store? Thanks in advance, and keep up the good work!
This is a great game with a unique experience. Think of it as a text based adventure game, where all your surroundings and experiences have sounds and you control the game with voice commands. I finished it just now and are looking forward to the next chapter.
I plan to create an Amazon Echo version, but I want to finish the content first.
From the room of the other statue go to north several times and you can find the storage room. You should look around in this storage room.
In the final form, the game will contain 3 episodes. The first episode will be free (this demo level is the final level of the first episode). The second and third chapter will be about 5 USD together.
I would like to know when the game is going to be completed so that I can play it. I loved this game and I’m dying to finish playing it. also I don’t mind purchasing it. also I would like to know how to get invited to test other games?
Curious question, but is there violence? I’m not particularly fond of games that include violence.
I also would like to know this because I am also not very fond of games that have violence in them
hello i'm stuck in the second statue and i also have the saphire. so when i put the saphire in the statue the north door closes and when i take it out it says the north door opens but when i tried going north it still says the north door is still close.
I am happy to hear you like my game. The good news is I am actively working on finishing the game. The bad news is the timing. This is only my hobby project, and my progress is very slow.
I divided the story into three chapters. The part that you played is the second half of the first chapter. Currently, I finished the full first chapter and have good progress with the third one. If I keep my content writing speed, I can release the game at the end of 2021.
But if you would like to try it, I can release the full first chapter in the next days.
I don't know too much information about other games because this one is the only game that I developed, but I think others also search testers on this forum.
You don't have to kill or hurt anybody during the game, but you are running away from a group of cultists during the story, so you have to run for your life in some parts.
Sorry about it, but it is a bug in the content. Thank you for reporting it. I will release a fix for it in the next days.
This is great so far. it puts a whole new spin on knowing your O&M--orientation and mobility skills. I got lost quite a few times because I forgot where I was. maybe a repeat option, to have the narrator tell you where you are again would be helpful. I found no errors, except when I said the wrong thing. it seemed very accessable, but is one episode just the single chapter? If so, I'll try episode 2/it should just continue from where you left off. The money for the season pass is still counted in Euros--so will it also be counted in dollars for US players one day? like the fact that previews of the narrators are instantaneous and not having to be clicked on when arrowing up/down with VoiceOver. I'll e-mail you with more suggestions soon, but thanks for now/finally we have a pretty darn good O&M type game.
I released the full first chapter today morning. If you want to try it, please delete the game and re-download it from the original link (https://testflight.apple.com/join/HN8J30ma).
I hope you will like it.
I appreciate any feedback you can provide.
In case of any problems or if you need any support, feel free to contact me. My email address is firstname.lastname@example.org.
I played the game multiple times and sent my Feedback through the TestFlight app but I am not sure if this is all I am supposed to do to properly beta test an app. I also tried to contact the developer because I would like to finish playing the game but have not gotten any response by email. I really like this game and would like to play the entire game, my demo on the TestFlight app expires in 11 days and I want to keep playing it!
Thank you for testing. I am the developer of the game. Sorry about the lack of reply, but I cannot find your mail in my inbox.
I am glad to hear you like my game. Sorry, but currently, the full version is not available. The good news is I am actively working on finishing the game. The bad news is the timing. This is only my hobby project, and my progress is very slow.
I divided the story into three chapters. In the current version the first chapter is available. I have good progress with the third one. If I keep my content writing speed, I can release the game at the end of 2021.
I will upload a new version of the app before the TestFlight expiration to keep the game playable.
Hi this is still an awesome game the first chapter is awesome. Will you need testers fore chapters two and three as well
I am happy to hear you like my game. I will also plan a beta test if I am ready with the other chapters. It will be around September. I will send you an activation code when it is available.
Thanks i am looking forward to it.
Please look for my e-mail/put email@example.com in your contacts list … Yes, i'm a safe sender. Anyway, do you plan to continue the story after chapter 3? Otherwise, do you plan to make more games like this? I would almost like this game to have a fighting feature, just to kill wild animals and stuff for food, no killing people unless they try taking your stuff/you unaware … stuff like that. I'd like to see what you'd have to say to initiate one of these battles
First, I want to finish the game in 2021, and next, I will decide how to move on. But the three chapters make a whole story together; currently, I am not planning additional chapters.
I am thinking about a shorter fairytale themed game, especially for kids with real voice acting, but it is only an idea in my mind now. I also plan to cooperate with content creators. I can provide the engine and the content editor, and they can create their own voice games with it.
For this game, I don't plan a fighting subsystem. I want to keep it on exploring and problem-solving level.
This is very cool, complete with music/sound effects. A fighting system was almost scene, if people chose to shoot at the enemy, that is. That was what I was looking for, anyway. Notice the spelling errors of some English words, though. As of yet, it doesn’t really detract from the message. But yet, it kind of does. One question though. Why did you set people at the top of the mountain, and going down into the dark hole during the demonstration. Now, the episode is more complete with the true beginnings, and music to mark specific turning points. Love that! Keep up the very good work on this game, and others you might pursue developing. Hopefully, the one about fairytales will also be voice enabled. I would play it, even though I’m not a kid but like those kind of stories/always have.
