Survey to help with development of new audio game

iOS and iPadOS Gaming

Hi folks! I'm Mikko. 41 year old blind musician and gaming fanatic from Finland. Haven't been too active in blind forums but hey, you can always start. Great to be here!

We started a new company called MyTrueSound. Our goal is to make audio games for mobile devices. These games are based on sound and the whole idea is that you can play without any sight. I've been a gamer throughout my life but have never been involved in game design.

Anyway. I can't tell you details yet but we're doing something that's completely in a different level than the games on the market now. Much closer to Playstation games and such. Imo, we need better games.

Anyway, game development takes time and effort...Also investor funds to really be able to concentrate on the essentials and not compromising the quality by any means.

That's why we need information. We need to know that there is a real need for better audio games. That's why I ask you to take a few minutes time to answer some questions.

We will pick three lucky ones among all who have taken the survey...The three lucky ones will gain full access to all our games for three years as soon as we are in the stage of releasing games.…

All the best to everybody and thanks for your interest...And keep up playing !

If you want to make a great game that all will play, make an American football game. There is no accessible football game or any other sport game such as baseball, soccer, basketball or so.

Actually, there are accessible games for basketball and football. Have you checked out Blindfold Basketball and Blindfold Soccer Kick? There is also an accessible cricket game.

No, sorry for the confusion. Blindfold Soccer Kick is soccer as the name says, which Europeans traditionally call football.

I think if you want to make a really good audio game, make a flight simulator, with combat and all the works. The iPhones nowadays have plenty of processing power for that kind of game. And charge $15 for it if you have to. I'll buy it.

The ap store is lacking in those types of games for the blind community. I'm tired of the card and word games. I think a business sim like restaurant or supermarket or any business sim would be good for the blind community and would definetly make a lot of money because a lot of people are demanding those types of games. Charge 15 or 20 dollars I will definetly buy it for sure. Anyone that makes a realistic game like that I'm going to pay what ever ever it cost because I want it.

First of all thanks for everyone who already took the time to answer our Audio Game Survey. The survey is still open and the statistics we can gather from there are very helpful and important for us. We kindly ask those of you who haven't yet filled the survey do so to help us understand more the needs of the blind gamer community and also help us ensure investors that the money they put on us is coming back in the end.

Also, thanks for the great comments in this thread, please keep 'em coming.
