Catch 52 Available

Forum
iOS & iPadOS Gaming

Thanks to many of you in the AppleVis community the Catch 52 app is now available in the AppStore. So many helped its hard to express my thanks but I do so appreciate the time and effort put in by many.

The description reads:

Challenge your reflexes, concentration and friends. Catch 52 drops playing cards from the top of the screen and you must catch all of either the picture cards or all the cards of a named suit (spades, diamonds, clubs, or hearts) by pressing the right screen button or tap the left screen to reject all the other cards. You can maximize your score by catching the required cards as close to the bottom of the screen as possible and rejecting the other cards as quickly as possible.

Catch 52 does not use Voice Over but is fully accessible. Turn Voice Over off before pressing the Start button on the top left of the screen.

Catch 52 uses gestures to change all of the game settings. One tap with two fingers silences the speech. Two taps with two fingers repeats the verbal instructions. Three taps with two fingers changes the difficulty or speed of gameplay. There are two screens, a game screen and a game over screen which is shown after three misses or completing a full deck of cards. On the game over screen a single tap with one finger on the right or left side of the screen will show the game center standings. Use a swipe up to return to the game screen.

Game Center keeps a leaderboard and record your achievements. Challenge your friends and others.

Thank you so much for helping.

Hi. I have a few questions...
1. A few things aren't really explained. Which orientation do we need to have the phone to play this game? It isn't really explained in the instructions.
2. I found it very difficult to find the start button with VoiceOver turned off, maybe it's just me? I had to turn on VoiceOver, find the start button and quickly turn it off again. I mainly do things by swiping to navigate, so it needs to be easier to find the start button without VoiceOver turned on.

I just read this back and I probably sound more harsh than I mean to be, the idea of the game is great which is why I rushed right over and got the game. I'm just finding it difficult to find that start button. Is anyone else having difficulties with this?
Thanks.

Sorry you had a problem. Two things to note. The spoken instructions force the START button off so it won't work when the instructions are being spoken. A single two finger tap will stop the speech and turn the START button on. I will consider making the button larger and announce the orientation with the instructions in an update.

Thanks for checking it out. Please keep in touch and let me know anything else you find.
