I am a retired engineer and programmer. My uncle's difficulty with sight and his love of computer games inspired me to write a few IOS audio games. He is now lost almost all of his sight to macular degeneration. I have attempted to learn xcode, purchased an Intel Mac, and studied for almost two years. I have written an app that does not require VoiceOver but is very simple. It is a simple slot machine game. I have added a physical feature to it that allows the player to tilt-to-spin the reels. The game is played with only four large buttons that cover the entire screen.
I'm a software developer who for many years has built free apps to explore how I can build the most accessible experiences possible using today's technology, and to share my learnings with other developers to help them consider the accessibility of their own apps.
My latest app is a solitaire game, and while the app is very much a work in progress, it has already received some encouraging feedback from players who are blind. One player has told me that he's been able to complete a game of solitaire for the first time in his life using the app.
Hello

I recently upgraded my IOS to 13.1 on my iPhone 8. Since doing this I am unable to play my Lost Cities card game. The buttons to play and retrieve cards just don't function any more. Any help or thoughts appreciated please. doreenT
I am looking at putting a few of the games discussed in this forum on iPhone 5S and was wondering are there any games in particular that do not work under iOS 7 or are no longer accessible.
I am still looking for an accessible IOS app in wich to import PDF of gamebooks with internal hyperlinks. I tried many and they do not properly works to jump from section to section too continue the story after the reader makes a choice.
Hope someone knows about one.
Hi all, so after using a PS4 controller to complete Brok the investigator, I was wondering. Are there any other games that I can play using the controller? Any help will be appreciated, thanks.
I have an iPad and I have it locked in landscape mode.
I love playing games, but I hate having the games in portrait mode.
Can someone suggest any games that do not put my iPad in portraait mode? Edit: I am using a keyboard case.
I don't think it's me who's messing up but my iPhone seven. it seems to delay on me every now and again, and for those prescious secdions I can't get a spell up, I'm bombarded and die. The iPhone I'm using may be from Apple, but it was sent to me by my home state and might not have the power to handle a game like this. Also, I guess that could be due to its battery life, now at like 89%. I'll be getting new phone, still an iPhone, hopefully for Christmas.
Hey everyone, I have a question. Is anybody else able to access the social centre on Dice World right now? Iβm unable to access the social centre. My Internet connection is fine as I can play games perfectly. Everything is just not working for any social aspect. Chatting, groups, notifications, friends. All Iβve done is done nothing. My activity fees shows an empty list. Could just be because of the supposed social shutdown it was supposed to be happening a few days Ago
I'm running the latest iOS on an iPhone Xr. The voiceover focus isn't staying where I put it. When I try to read something, it just randomly goes back to the top of the page every minute or so. This is particularly problematic on the lifeline game with Taylor in the time rift because of the way the app is designed to have the story show continuously.
I haven't found people in ages. It is now currently 2:30 PM in my country as I am posting this, so if anyone is interested in a game of bowling please let me know.
This may have been addressed before. But is Apple Arcade accessible for the blind? I keep getting messages like "subscribe to Apple Arcade today." Or something of that nature. I'm using an iPhone 13 pro Max with VoiceOver and a braille display.
Sourcefable is an accessible game coming soon : release date june 21, 2023. It is an interactive narrative fiction including strong fighting and RPG elements. It wil play on any web navigator, compatible with screen readers, written and coded by a blind french author. It includes musics and illustrations with alternate descriptions.
Since the game is in french i wonder if maybe it can be enjoyed with a screen reader and any kind of auto translation on IOS or IPADOS for non french speaking people. Anyone has an idea or similar experience ?
Hi. I use to play Catagugl, and I tried to redownload it today and then I realized it wasn't on the app store anymore. I was pretty sad because I really liked this game and it was pretty fun and unique. Does anyone know if the developers plan to bring it back, or if there are any similar games? Thanks!
I do well on Flip it until it gives the Hide command. The first time I cover the screen it works fine, but stops after that. Anybody else having this issue? I'm on a 4S running iOS6.1.
