I recently updated the youversion bible app and noticed highlighting passage is no longer accessible with VO. Did app developer remove this feature in this update? Is there a way to highlight verses with VO?

Hi. I'd really appreciate if someone could tell me how I can see more than 30 results in the appstore. For example, if I type the word Cyprus, which is my country, at the very left of the screen voiceover says 324 results. When I move with 1 finger to the right, I can only see 30 results. When I flick with 3 fingers to the right or left, it says page 1, page 2, page 3, etc, until page 30 and backwards. But that page 30, is only the 30th app result. So, how can I find the rest? I know that sighted people can easily go further without voiceover.

Hi all,
After updating to iOS 13: When my alarm goes off in the morning, not only is the alarm ringing but my phone is also reading the "Do not disturb" notification. What notification setting would I change to so in the morning, I hear just the alarm and not VO reading the DND thing that says, "Calls will be silenced..." Thanks!

Hello Applevis,
So I am posting this here in the hope that it can be useful to the community.
The DMs interface on the instagram website has never been accessible on desktop with all the popular os/browser/screen reader combinations I've tried. Let me know if you know a reliable way to do so by the way. The iOS app however is quite accessible and I know that more than a few blind people use it regularly.

Here’s a quick YouTube video of a demonstration that I think is handy when using headphones or other Bluetooth speakers that you can’t get the volume just right with!

I was trying to use a site that has several pages and headings on the pages. The router is set to heading navigation. Using voiceover, is there a quick wayh I can navigate to the last heading on the page?

Hello,
I tried some shopping apps but nonne of them were really easy to use nor fully accessible with VoiceOver. Mostly there were unlabled buttons and a complex form to fill in. But I just want to create a shopping list and print it out.
I'd like to create my own list of everything what I normally buy. Later I want to click on an entry of this list and want it to appear in a separate list which I can print for the assistant. That's all I want from a shopping list.
Any ideas of an app that fullfills these two needs?

Hello! I'm posting to poll people for a good voice recording app for iOS 8. I don't mind paying for a good, vo accessible app. Thanks!

I'm looking for an app that would have the following characteristics

An app that when notifications come in, voiceover won't speak, thus it won't come out in the recording.
An app that would have some sort of gestures to start/pause and stop recording, thus when doing this, Voiceover won't come out speaking upon activating the before-mentioned controls.

Hi! I am looking for an app where I can sync RSS-feeds and podcast-feeds between my mac and iPhone. It could be nice if I could download the audio files to my Mac, but it is not the most important thing for me.

I remember reading a lot of comments about speech central and Voice Dream a while back. I tried to find speech central on the App Store and couldn’t find it. Are there any other accessible scanners for the phone?

Hello everyone,

I've brought this idea up on Mastodon, but haven't heard of any responses. It seems some audio recording/editing apps do not like it when you plug headphones in, more specifically when you use voiceover, as I obviously can't test without it.

Good morning! So, since I updated to Ios 18 I can no longer enter Live on Tiktok. When I am on a Live the only thing that Vois Over tells me is "Text field obscured" and, at the top of the page "Hot page", but obviously it is not true in fact it tells me this on any Live. I also thought they had blocked my access to Live but if I enter my account from my Galaxy s 24 plus that I use for work I can regularly enter Live. I also tried to uninstall the application and reinstall it but nothing, the problem occurs anyway. Why does this happen? Is there a solution?

Hi all, I'm David Lai, a fully blind person from China and I'm now using an iPhone SE with the language set to English. I've been reading contents on the Applevis site for some time now, and I enjoy everything on here. Thanks for making my learning curve to the iPhone shorter and more enjoyable!

Hi All,

Hello everyone. I am looking for a simple-to-use app that is accurate enough to where I don't have to do a lot of moving around, and is simple enough without a lot of complex features. All I need is a simple app, probably O C R, that will read gift cards to me. KNFB reader would most likely do it, but I was hoping for something a bit more simple that also works with voiceover. I am also looking for one preferably that will not require you to have the gift card oriented correctly to necessarily geet an accurate reading. Thanks!
