What do people think of Apple’s silicone iPhone case?
I recently purchased a black Apple designed silicone case for my iPhone 6 s plus. I just wanted to know if anyone else has this case and what you think of it. Personally I like it for the most part. It fits the phone well, making it very thin and easy to press the volume buttons and the sleep/wake button, which the case covers. The case is extremely soft and comfortable in my hand. However, the thing I don't like about it is that it does not protect the speaker and charging port. In fact, the front portion of glass below the home button is entirely exposed. So if you drop the phone on it's screen... Well, at least the back part of the phone is protected. But what do you guys think of this case? I like it, but it doesn't seem to offer very much protection.
I prefer silicone cases rather than plastic or metal ones. Metal and plastic usually end up scraching your device and are less easy to clean. I got a silicone case from dealextreme that protects both the jack and charging port. Charging the device and connecting my headphones is a bit more difficult though.
I used one of these in conjunction with a tempered glass screen protector. That way I knew the screen was protected as well. My only problem with this case was it's a hard case covered with a layer of silicone, and once I chipped it by falling over with the phone in my pocket, the silicone started to peal off the plastic part and once it starts pealing it won't stop. Also it started pealing from the bottom right where it sat in my hand so it became uncomfortable to hold. I've since replaced it with a cheaper case which is flexible silicone rather than plastic covered with silicone like the Apple one. I did like this case a lot until the silicone started to peal so until you chip it it does a good job, and to be fair it did protect the phone.
wow. that sounds terrible. good thing i have two spare cases that ar not silicone.
