Using Airpods with Windows?

By Gabriel, 27 January, 2021

Hello all and thanks for your time.
I'm an happy Airpods user both on my iOS and MacOS devices.

But I'm also using Windows, to be sincere with more saddisfaction then MacOS. I own a fix and a laptop computer and I really would like to take advantage of my Airpods2, Airpods Pro and Airpods ProMax with them.

Mounths ago I had a very bad experience: I connected my Airpods2 to Windows 10, it a VivoBookPro15 from Asus. Tehy worked pretty well but when I took them out from my ears and put them into their box, audio desappeared from my computer. As I was without a Braille display, it was horrible. I had to call a sighted friend and, throw a videocall, connect him with teamviewer. He had to reinstall drivers of my soundcard.
Never in the world I'd like to repeat again that afternoon.
But, on the other hand I really love to use Windows, especially when playing, with my Airpods.
Does anyone has tips and trick, or experiences on that? Could I risk once more to connect them to Windows?
Any suggestions?
Thanks a lot.
Gabriele.

If you own an airpods pro max you should be able to use a p2 cable to connect with your windows laptop, I'm almost sure.

I can't help with that but.

If you're using NVDA, download the bluetooth addon for it. It really helps.

No cable.

Hi. Thanks for your reply. I'd like to stay away from cables as much as possible. Yeah, I use them if needed, like low latency issues, but I really love go via Bluetooth.
So, I must find a solution with it.

No longer necessary.

Hi Brad, that addon is useless nowadays. Since 2020.3, or .2, NVDA can manage on itself the safety mode on audio interruptions.
Thanks.
Gabriel.

Ah ok.

I disabled the addon and removed it, used my bluetooth headphones and it would cut off when reading sentences, but with the addon enabled, it works fine.
