upgrading to a new iPhone any advice?

So I'm currently on an iPhone Xr. I'm due for an upgrade. What will I be getting when I go to a 12 or 13? I know I can expect a better camera and processor but are there any other features of the phones that would make accessibility any better? Has there been anything that takes advantage of the lidar sensor yet?

Well the photo discription when you point your camera to a picture or a image near a place. It will show you what is there and if there is a number you can call. Not sure if your phone can do so. Regarding light nothing yet. Battery last long. If you can wait, get the 14 in September.

It will

There’s not really a reason to upgrade, the iPhone XR does the same thing as the new iPhones in terms of accessibility, the live text functionality works on iPhone XR just as the newer iPhones does. However, there are some notable enhancements.
When upgrading to iPhone 11 or newer, it has the ability to be found using find my iPhone when the device is powered off, there is the Ultra Wideband functionality to find AirTags if you have one.
There has also been rumors going around saying that the iPhone 12 or newer will have the ability to use face ID with mask, that is rumored to arrive in March, but we don’t know if it will come in iOS 15.4 or 15.3.1, Who knows, we’ll see.
Personally I would recommend the iPhone 12 or 12 mini because it’s guaranteed that you’ll get the latest features with future versions of iOS, even an iPhone 11 is a good phone

Yes

Is not a rumor. Those who are testing the beta report that that feature is not in the 11 at this time. Only in the 12 and 13 so far.

And purchase 14 pro max it would be a very bombic device.
But to be frank... if you are blind so why do you want to upgrade?
Ah I see you have much money.
Then the first dropped lines just for you.
Cheers!

My phone's gotten slow.

The reason why I'm upgrading is my phone's gotten slow and the battery's not as good as it used to be.

I believe there is a new SE…

I believe there is a new SE around the corner. Would suggest holding off until the 8th march to see if there is a new budget iphone. It will be an older body, probably the iphone 8 shape again, but current chip set and 5 g, for whatever that is worth. It will be the cheapest offering you can get new but has the advantage of many years support and, I think it will be touch ID, which I find preferable meaning the mask issue becomes moot.

Agree the new SE is a resonably worth purchase

Certainly it is just my opinion!
you can purchase any device.
In fact there is no sense to pay for a unresonably @cheaf@ iPhone!
Cheers!

iPhone 13 Mini

I upgraded to an iPhone 13 Mini from an iPhone 8 a few months ago. The battery life of the 13 Mini isn't exceptional but is more than adequate for moderate daily use with screen curtain on and the newer image description features are really nice. I also like the smaller size as I have smaller hands but it can be a little cramped for some people especially those who have larger hands and use Braille screen input. If you can, try replacing your iPhone XR battery at an Apple store and see if you can get a few more years of life out of it; I had the battery of my iPhone 8 replaced twice before I upgraded which helps limit e-waste.

Why don't you just get a new battery?

It would be cheaper than a new phone, and I'd think that as long as your phone has the new features, you should be OK for a while more. Personally, I'd get a new battery and wait for a year or so.
