Resound Enzo 9 - Made for iPhone hearing aids

Hello:
I am in the process of acquiring new Resound Enzo 9 hearing aids. I have a few questions about them:
1) What else would you need to be able to hear the iPhone and iPad? I was under the impression that once I paired the hearing aids to the devices, I am all set. My audiologist thinks I will need the phone clip. I thought the 'Made for iPhone' hearing aids advertised that you didn't need any intermediary device.

2) Can I pair the aids to my Mac ? If not, what do I need to be able to stream the audio straight to my hearing aids?

Any help will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
mani

Hello,

The made for iPhone hearing aids do not require an intermediary device such as the clip or mike. The aids connect to the iPhone or iPad using Bluetooth. You will pair them by going to Settings, General< Accessability then Hearing aid. You will not be able to pair them like a standard Bluetooth device as they use BT 4.0.

Currently, the made for iphone hearing aids cannot connect diretly to a Mac or Windows PC. You will need to purchase the clip or michrophone from resound to do this. You connect the clip using an audio cable then your hearing aids connect wirelessly to the clip.

A few things you need to know. Using media streaming from the aids to the IOS device shortens the battery life so plan on having batteries on hand. Install the app on your device before you pick up the aids. Most of these apps have a demo built in so try it out. Check with your audi to make sure your aids have the latest firmware. Ask your audi if the aids can be exchanged for another model if they don’t work out for you.

HTH and good luck.

Great help

Hello David:
That certainly helped me. Thank you for your advice. Since I spend a lot of time in front of my Mac, I will have to decide between the phone clip or the mic. Any advice on which of the two I should go for.
And out of curiosity, how bad is the battery life when used with the iPhone and the Mac?

Thanks again,
mani
