Hi, I have an iPhone 5 s and for some reason I notice that when I am charging it and trying to use my phone whether it be for reading or facebook or whatever, when ever I swipe or flick it seems to skip or jump around or just doesn't work. When I unplug the charger from the phone it works. Any tips? Thanks Lelia

Problems with VoiceOver focus when iPhone is connected to charg

Hi Lelia
nothing to do with the charger, don't think that's [hardware] issue.
Since as you are facing slow data connection from your carrier or poor WiFi connection on the specific place where is plug the iOS device.
believe or not when the charger is plug no matter if are using own data plan or WiFi connection the apps or safari takes a beat longer to refresh, in other words, decrease the data/WiFi speed, it makes voiceOver jump around the screen.
As you mention above you were using apps who require data connection Weather, FaceBook dot's y when unplug the charger refresh faster.
You could try be closer at WiFi rother.

Hi Lelia,

Are you using a charger not manufactured by Apple, by chance?

I've heard of people having these types of issues, and I seem to recall it being related to electrical issues with the charger.

Hi.
I have the exact same issue, i thought it was my phone acting up. I do believe it's when you use a third party charger, even though it's certified.

Funny, I haven't noticed this

I have an iPad, which behaves just fine when used with the Anker charger I recently purchased. Perhaps it makes a difference that I have an iPad instead of an iPhone, and perhaps it can also vary from one third-party adapter to another, but nevertheless, my experience with the iPad is unaffected by the third-party charger for me.

Having said all that, it doesn't surprise me in the least that a device's performance can suffer while charging, simply because the hardware is doing more behind the scenes with the additional source of power. I just haven't experienced it myself.

Hi Michael and all, Michael, you are right, when I plugged in the apple charger and the adaptor into the wall, it worked and has been working ever since. Thank you very much for that tip. I wouldn't have figured that out. lelia

I have no issues wiht 3rd party chargers and voice over. I use them all the time and have been for close to 4 years inclusing one I just baught from a convention and one I baught from batteries plus. I don't know why this happens but maybe this is not apple or charger related at all.
