MacBook Air Keyboard Maintenance

Hello,

I've been trying to figure out a safe way to do this for some time, but most of the visual representations are not very descriptive. I would like to remove certain keys from my MacBook Air 2013. Some simply do not have the travel time that they used to. I'm not sure what's trapped beneath the keys, as I do refrain from eating or drinking near my notebook; I'm guessing it's simply an accumulation of certain things.
Anyhow, has anyone undertaken the process of removing keys and successfully putting them back on?
Thanks.
