How to simulate the Escape key on an Apple Smart Keyboard?

By Jim D, 14 December, 2017

Hello. I'm posting this question for a friend of mine, in hopes that one of you has one of these devices and has previously found the solution to this issue. My friend recently purchased a Smart Keyboard for her iPad Pro. Its a great keyboard and connects nicely to the iPad. The problem, it does not have an escape key. When using VoiceOver, the escape key is really helpful for backing out of dialogs and other things. Do any of you know of a key sequence which will simulate an escape key on one of these keyboards?
Any help is truly appreciated.
Jim

The command you're looking for is VO with the grave accent key.
