I have an Ipad 4g and would like to connect it to my TV to show movies or photos or whatever.
I thought buying an Apple TV but as in my Ipad I can find the same apps as Netflix, I would only need to pair it with my TV by a cable or whatever.
Please advise me on what I need in order to connect vidio and audio
Thanks in advance.
connecting iPad to TV
As far as I know, this is not yet possible. the iPad is very limited as it has no video out or any HDMI ports so there is no way to connect to any external source. the only other way to pairing external hardware is via airplay, but unless its an Apple TV, this will not work with third party hardware either.
Apple Composite AV Cable
You can get a composite AV Cable which connects your iPad to the TV. I have one of these and it works for Netflix, Youtube and other video on iPad.
HDMI Input to TV
The Digital AV Adapter will give better quality video to your TV if it has an HDMI input. Make sure you get one with the correct connector for your iPad - either 30 pin or lightning. They are available from Apple and others on the Internet.
Thank you very much Amanda and Dave, now I see the light
Sorry to contradict Usman, but I thought I'd mention another alternative. The software Reflector (http://www.airsquirrels.com/reflector/), allows you to mirror your iPad to any computer, Mac or PC. I realize this isn't what Karina wanted, but it's interesting to know it's available.
