Looks like Apple's long awaited charging mat has been canceled:

hard to believe they gave up, but at least there are plenty of other options out there these days.

not surprised at all. first off, there are many good charging mat at very reasonable prices out there. apple probably wants to sell something for $199 and figured they couldn't possibly do that. just consider how much they charge for their little charging brick adaptors, or even the 3 foot lighting cable.

Amazon has many deals on wireless chargers that work well with iPhone xx, xr, x, x max and x and iPhone 8.
so what else can i get?
why would apple even announce it if they couldn't pull this one off? seems crazy. what else can i get then that's an alternative? or am i meant have a mat for watch, phone and airpods with cables everywhere?
