Hi folks,
I am trying to assist a friend to solve the issue below. I am hoping someone might have some suggestions we have not thought of. I should first say that
I have been in touch with Freedom scientific and it would seem the issue is not on their end.
Here is the issue it is of note that I have the same combination of devices and I am not seeing this.Β I am however seeing that the Braille does not always
track correctly when I am writing which can cause material to be written in the wrong place in the edit field. My friend notices theΒ issue when using
the message app which is where she uses Braille mostly with her phone.
Devices::
iPhone 13 mini with current software version.
Braille display, Focus 14.
or zoomax ereader
With the Braille display connected to the phone, my friend is not able to type using the Perkins keyboard. No characters are Brailed. Also it is not possible to use Braille navigation keys to move within the app.
We have tested the focus 40 using my friendβs windows computer and JAWS screen reader and the keyboard works as expected.
It is also worth mentioning that my friend and I use the same NLS model ereader (Zoomax) and she is unable to make that device work with her phone either.
I have not tried my eReader with the phone recently as I find typing on that keyboard not to be comfortable.
At first, I thought the keys on her focus display might have been locked but the sequence to do this is not an easy combination to hit accidently as it involves 3 keys.
Thanks for any information.
