strange braille screen input issue

Braille on Apple Products

I am trying to figure out what is happening with my iPhone8. I try to use Braille Screen input, and the following happens; I turn my phone into screen away mode, and it says table top mode instead. Also, it seems that the dots are in the wrong places, and I did check to verify that they hadn't been reversed. I am running iOS 13.2.3. I was hoping today's might magically fix the issue, but no dice. Whats more odd, still, I have another iPhone8, and it does not exhibit this behavior. Any ideas?

Hi: I'm sorry this is happening to you. I don't think the problem is widespread. I, too, updated to iOS 13.2.3, and my braille screen input is working fine. Sorry. The best I can suggest is for you to contact Apple Accessibility directly. The number is (877) 204-3930.

Cordially,

Keep in mind that the dots will only be in the right order if you rotate your phone in the direction away from you.

So let's say you want to use BSI in screen away mode.

First you would have the phone flat so the screen is facing the ceiling, then turn the phone away from you.

If you want table top mode, you would turn the phone so that the screen is facing you, then turn it away from you until the screen faces the ceiling.

This is how I use BSI, and I haven't had a single problem with it apart from that autocorrect sound that seems to have been introduced in iOS 13.

I don't use translation because I've been reading that it tends to have a few quircs, plus, not using braille translation forces me to spell words so that I don't forget.

Thank you all for your suggestions. I finally did call the Apple Accessibility line, and I have the issue fixed. Reset all settings fixed whatever oddity was plaguing my device. I'll reconnect to WIFI and reset a few things such as SIRI and my VO settings in exchange for getting braille screen input back. at least I didn't have to completely restore the phone, which is where I thought this was headed.
