Issue with Braille Screen Input on iOS 13

Hello everyone, I'm not sure if anyone has posted about this particular issue here, but I've observed that in iOS thirteen, Braille Screen Input seems to not be working correctly. For one thing, when I toggle Braille Screen Input on, it'll say something like, "Braille Screen input, six dot, contractions off," even though I know I set it to use contracted braille. Also, it makes this sound when I am able to get it working, kind of like the sound you get when auto correct is turned on, which I don't have turned on. Another thing I've noticed is that if I try typing right after Braille Screen input is enabled, it acts as if I'm still in portrait mode, even though VoiceOver says I'm in landscape.
However, with all this being said, I was able to figure out a work around for typing with Braille Screen Input. If you toggle Braille Screen Input on using the rotor, then rest your finger on the screen, your phone should make this sound, kind of like the sound you get when creating a folder. When it does, you should be able to type, as well as toggle contractions on and off. While this does work, I hope BSI will get fixed in 13.1.

I do no such thing.

1. Go into a text edit field.
2. Activate BSI with the rotor.
3. Just turn your phone to landscape with the charge port on your left and start typing. It works flawlessly here every time, except when my own fingers slip, but it works very well here.

I've noticed this too

I have noticed the same behavier as well, getting the autocorect sound when typing in braille screen input. I am not however, getting the messages about contracted braille or uncontracted braille. mine stays in the samemode that I leave it in.

Rest Assured, It Will Be Fixed in 13.1!

I am on the public beta 4 of iOS 13.1 and I've seen all of this gone and back to normal just like iOS 12! So, folks, have no fear, as it'll be gone when 13.1 is released! I've noticed the same issue on 13.0 when that public beta was around and it's gone in 13.1 just like I said!

Yep that's prob why I don't

i was going to post about all of these issues myself, then stumbled across the braille on IOS forum here, so decided to look first, and glad I have. Thank you so much for posting what you did, so grateful there are more patient people than I to test public betas! *smiles

Yeah it's stable now, and 13.2 will I think will be coming out for us soon ish, hopefully today. I really love and use BSI. It's easy once you grasp how to use it, which only took me a few hours to do, back in 2016 anyway.

I love braille screen input,

I love braille screen input, only for it, I wouldn't be able to type so efficiently
