Hi there. After installing iOS 26, I had no speech. What can I do to fix that? Has anyone else had that problem? VoiceOver makes the right noises, but there is no speech.

press the power button 3 times
Power button might it bring it back or ask Siri to turn off and on voiceover. Also press volume up to see if it might bring it up
No
I tried several times
3 finger
3 finger double tab. See if that help. Check the 26 beta poste, I think some are having this issue and someone put a poste.
Try activating Siri, and …
Saying, "unmute audio".
Or
"hey Siri, unmute audio".
VoiceOver unfortunately uses media volume, and if Siri somehow muted your audio, that means it muted media volume, which in turn muted VoiceOver.
HTH.
Force restart your device
Just press vol up vol down and hold power button
That should get your speech up and running after the restart
Reinstall all of the system voices
Hi all. I didn't install beta myself but I have seviral pears who did that. Only think that helped is to remove and redownload all of the voices. After that speach will come back
I had the same, here is the fix
I had the same issue. The suggestions above will not work. I believe the issue is with the premium voices. Ideally if you can get site assistance, going to VoiceOver settings, then speech, and change the speech to either the local quality or enhanced versions of voices. You can check in advance if a voice is going to work by getting it to play a sample although strangely the option to play a sample doesn't seem to be available on all devices. If you hear the sample then you are safe to install the voice. If you don't hear a sample then don't install the voice. Know that the Siri voices will install and work, but there seems to be an issue with them adding speech before that which you would expect to hear meaning at the moment the Siri voices our unusable.
