If you experience a bug in Apple Beta Software, the most important thing you can do is to file a report in Feedback Assistant. Please do not assume that Apple is already aware of a bug or that your report won't make a difference; your report may provide crucial information, and submitting bug reports directly to Apple helps them reproduce and resolve the issue faster. The more reports they receive, the higher the priority Apple is likely to give to fixing the bug.

If you are using beta software, please use the Feedback Assistant on your device to submit feedback and bug reports. If you are using a public release, this blog post explains how to report the issue and what information to include.

In 2025, AppleVis launched the Community Bug Reporting Program with the goal of improving the quality and quantity of information we share with the community about bugs in Apple software releases. If you would like to contribute to this effort, please submit your reports via our Community Bug Report Form.

All reports shared with AppleVis must first be filed with Apple via Feedback Assistant. More information about the Community Bug Program is available here.

I don’t have any issues with notifications, but as far as I know I didn’t before anyway

Lucky you.

I've not yet installed the beta and I'm not sure whether I'll ever install it. So is VoiceOver more responsive when switching between rotor languages now?

By BlindFolk on Tuesday, June 9, 2026 - 17:55

Has anyone yet received new SIRI, or are we all on the waiting list?

By peter on Tuesday, June 9, 2026 - 18:39

I have several different activities set with Voiceover. some of the activities are associated with specific apps and some just options for changing things like the Voiceover voice.

I find that none of these activities are working with iOS 27. If I switch to an app associated with a particular activity, I still hear the same voice I am using as a default. If I switch to any of the other activities that have different voices associated with them, I still hear the default voice and nothing chanages.

Can other verify this?

Ever since I downloaded the new beta, my WIFI and Network do not connect. I have tried all the recommended fixes with no results. Does anyone have an idea how to fix this?

By Ayub on Tuesday, June 9, 2026 - 21:31

No issues with Wi-Fi here on iOS 27.

By Stevie Zylstra on Tuesday, June 9, 2026 - 21:32

I am also not having any issues with Wi-Fi on my iPhone 16e.

Hi,

I don't have the beta on my primary devices, but how is everyone enjoying the new Siri AI? Are the voices more natural? I know that it is the first beta and things can get buggy sometimes but I want to find out has any of you used the new voices yet?

By Stevie Zylstra on Tuesday, June 9, 2026 - 22:28

I am still on the waitlist for it and I have been since I updated it yesterday. I don’t know how Apple’s approval system seems to be working however it seems to be letting some people in immediately and other people are still waiting.

Siri expressive voices won't work on devices having 8 gb ram. Also, I heard in a youtube video that some apps have a different view (landscape versus potrait). Examples given were fitness app, apple music, and others. Can anybody test this and confirm different layouts?

I am still on the wait list for the full improved Siri, but I am still abel to access the actions in the Dynamic Island. They are pretty cool!

if one swipes down in the Dynamic Island you get actions like "Ask about screen" and "Explore screen".

If you activate "Ask about screen", you hear a tone indicating that you can speak. Then you can ask a question about what is on the screen. This can be something like "describe the text", "tell me about any images on the screen", etc.

If you activate the "Explore screen" a dialog opens like a chat interface that let's you either type in a question about what is on the screen or use the microphone to ask a question. Then you can follow up with more questions. For example, I opened my running app and asked how many times I ran in the past month and what was the average number of miles in each run. Pretty cool!

One can also activate such actions when on an image like in the News ap or an e-mail note. The results are pretty quick and pretty good.

Try it out!

Hi.

I'm still on the waitlist for Siri. I signed up yesterday.

Hello AppleVis,
After updating my iPhone to iOS 27, I would like to announce some of the issues I found during my testing time.

Please Note: These issues might vary depending on your device, which means that not everyone might not be having these issues. Anyways, let me get started.
After testing iOS 27, I have noticed that VoiceOver does not announce the Wi-Fi name in the status bar. For example, it just says, "3 of 3 Wi-Fi bars" without reading the Wi-Fi name you are connected to.

Secondly, if you are using a Braille Display, you might not be able to dismiss a Braille Alert Message. For exapple, if you are doing something on your iPhone and you get a Braille alert on your Braille display, you might not be able to close that message.

These are all the issues I have fowded so far. But if anyone finds anything else please let me know. Also, don't forget if you are having these issues, please report them to Apple Accessibility. I have reported them but I would really appreciate to have it reported by the AppleVis community also. The more reports Apple has, the more attention these issues have.

Thank you. AppleGhis is truly an amazing place to discuss this and I'm very glad that we have that resource.

Thank you. We could not have done it without your support.
All the best,
Ayub

I previously reported that after flicking quickly or after locking the iPhone and then unlocking it, Voiceover suddenly became silent. I had to say "Hey Siri, set volume to 45%" to hear Voiceover again.

Well, I think that problem has been resolved since I haven't seen it all day.

I am guessing that the problem is that my iPhone memory became low after the update. I had about 30 GB free on my phone before the update to iOS 27. After installing the beta, somewhat later in the day I got a notification saying that my iPhone memory was low. When I looked, I only had about 3 or 4 GB free.

So I'm guessing that all of the AI stuff packed into iOS 27 added 25-30 GB to my system.

After clearing out memory I now have about 30GB free again and haven't seen the issue of Voiceover suddenly becoming silent.

Hope this info helps some people.

I’ll give that a shot thank you
Has the tone of your voice changed at all over the day of having the beta update? Mine seems to have changed over the last few hours. It seems to have a little more base in it now.

wondering if any of you who are running 27 beta also using Nearby Explorer and FloType successfully or does the beta break them? For that matter, are there any apps that don't play well thus far? Thanks in advance.

Hello everyone,
I installed iOS 27 beta 1 on my iPhone 16 Pro,
and I have something to say!

Let's start with the fact that I haven't noticed any optimization in terms of performance.
I have to say that VoiceOver has become significantly slower than it was before the update.
It has become much less responsive,
whether moving the focus, tapping on the screen, or opening apps —
everything takes much longer.

Second, the sound of VoiceOver itself, the way it speaks,
has also become much worse.
It is now quieter,
and it seems to me that there is no low frequency or bass in the voice at all —
or if there is, it’s barely noticeable.

Also, in the status bar,
VoiceOver does not read the name of the Wi-Fi network that the iPhone is connected to —
it only reads the signal strength.

From Control Center,
it’s impossible to access the status bar —
the VoiceOver focus simply cannot find it at all.

Even though I have the time set to 24-hour format,
VoiceOver reads it in 12-hour format after the update.

The Scene Description feature on the Action Button does not work —
at least not when Image Description is enabled in iPhone settings.
But this issue was also present in iOS 26, iOS 18,
and as far as I remember, in the later versions of iOS 17.

Also, after the update,
the automations that enable VPN when launching specific apps have stopped working.

My iPhone is made for the Chinese market,
so I cannot try the AI-powered image description feature.
Even though the toggle has appeared in my settings,
whenever I try to ask a question about an image, it just gives an error.

These are all the issues I’ve encountered so far.
I will update this post if I find anything else.

But there is also something good in this update.
For example, the screen recognition feature has become much better than before.
It no longer shows a bunch of often unlabeled buttons and images,
but actually describes inaccessible interfaces and makes them usable.
For example, the official Telegram client
is now quite accessible when using this feature —
this really made me happy.

The phone does not heat up more after the update than before installation,
and battery life hasn’t gotten worse either.

Since this is a beta version,
I think the VoiceOver bugs and its lag are temporary
and will be fixed in the next beta versions.

Good luck to everyone and have a nice day!

Hey all,

With Siri AI available to me, I seem to have lost the writing tools in my rotor. can anyone else confirm? If I'm missing something obvious on their use, also let me know!

By BlindFolk on Wednesday, June 10, 2026 - 19:27

Does anyone know how to enable type to siri with this IOS27? I used to do a 4-finger flick down to enable type to siri, but on this beta it brings up the spotlight search bar!

By peter on Wednesday, June 10, 2026 - 22:22

Well, bad news. This problem had not occured for a bit over a day since deleting some of my saved data to recover a bunch of memory.

Today, however, every time I lock my iPhone, Voiceover becomes totally silent. If I tell Siri to set the volume to 45% though, Voiceover will speak until the next time I lock the iPhone and try to unlock it again.

Oh well. Too bad this bug is not reproducible. I hope it can be tracked down. I did report it through the Feedback Assistant.

Well folks, I figured type to siri is no more. This is because siri is a stand alone app, and you can type in the app itself. Just like you do with CHAT GPT, gemini, etc.

Just wanted to share an early observation on the longstanding VoiceOver focus jumping issue.

My experience with this goes back years, across multiple devices and iOS versions — on a typical day I'd encounter it literally hundreds of times. Since installing Beta 1 a couple of days ago, I've only been aware of one or two instances where focus might have jumped spontaneously. That includes situations where I could previously guarantee focus would jump. Whether it's a complete fix or just a significant reduction I can't say yet, but the difference is night and day so far.

Would be great to hear if others are having a similar experience, especially if you've been badly affected by this issue previously.

Apple has announced that they have significantly improved the dictation for iOS devices with 12GB RAM: the iPhone Air, iPhone 17 Pro, and iPhone 17 Pro Max.

Has anybody noticed the change so far? Is it good enough that I can fully retire AI dictation apps, such as Typeless, on my device?

Let's face it, these apps don't work very well on iOS devices. Every single time iOS kills these dictation apps in the background and you click on the dictation icon, it literally relaunches the app all over again. Then you have to swipe back to the app, which is really inconvenient to use.

So, can I finally retire them in iOS 27?

By peter on Thursday, June 11, 2026 - 14:57

Yes, I think this is better with iOS 27. The worst place where I was experiencing this problem was in the app switcher when flicking through the apps list. I would flick to an app that I wanted to open and suddenly focus would jump back to the first item in the list and that app would open instead. I don't think I've seen this behavior in iOS 27 so far.

26.5. No issues. Probably was a bug for you. So many bugs. LLC.

I saw a video of someone getting into a recovery menu buy turning on his iPhone and holding the power button when the apple logo came up, it went into a recovery menu, trying it on my iPad 9 it just boots up normally, wondering if voiceover works in that menu.

By Earle on Thursday, June 11, 2026 - 19:47

I've heard from others on a beta list I'm on, that VoiceOver works in the recovery menu. When I tried it, VoiceOver said recovery assistant, but I couldn't get passed that point. It's possible that I didn't wait long enough, so I'll try again when I get a chance. There is a demo of VoiceOver working, so I'd really like to figure this out.
