Hello AppleVis community. I am Furkan, the developer of PageWalker, an iOS app that turns classic novels like Sherlock Holmes, Treasure Island and The Count of Monte Cristo into short choose-your-path adventures. You listen to a scene, then pick what the hero does next. A wrong choice ends the story.
I built it for two reasons: to make the classics fun to read again, and to make them open to people who can't see the page.
What works today:
- Every scene can be read aloud with your device's voices, with pause, resume and a speed control.
- Text size can be increased.
- 28 books, readable in 13 languages, with side-by-side translation for language learners.
What is not good enough yet: VoiceOver reads the story text and standard buttons, but some game controls are not labelled in the current App Store version. The next update adds labels to every game control, announces new pages and choices, and adds a high-contrast mode. It is ready and will go to Apple for review soon.
I would be very grateful for testers who can spend 15 minutes with VoiceOver and tell me where it gets confusing, now and after the update. Please reply here or email [email protected], and I will help you get access.
