Hi everyone,
I'm thrilled to announce the launch of my very first iOS app!
Iβm blind and an amateur iOS developer: before learning SwiftUI, I had no programming experience, and Iβm totally self-taught thanks to a great site that often gets mentioned here when it comes to discussing tutorials that teach this framework in an accessible way. I also managed to build this entire project without any sighted help, which makes me kind of proud of myself, but maybe itβs nothing impressive to those of you who are more experienced.
Anyway, the app is called DoorsJourney. Itβs an Advent calendar with over 50 unique surprises among songs, Christmas soundscapes, poems and reflections by famous authors. I like to think this is (probably) the most accessible Advent calendar out there, because I deliberately integrated a few accessibility features that I believe make the experience a bit more welcoming than an app which does not have them, even though the interface is simple. For example, you can browse between open, closed and favourite doors with the respective rotor entries. (You can mark doors you enjoyed as favourite so you can find them easily and revisit them anytime.)
I wanted to share the app with you, hoping that it might bring a bit of delight to your holiday season, and of course, because all feedback is welcome!

Thanks for reading, and hope you enjoy!
