I have two Android tablets here that belonged to my late brother.
I do not know the PIN he used on both devices.
I would ike to erase all contents of these devices and give them to friends if I can.
Are Android tablets locked to a particular accounts like Apple’s are linked to an Apple ID?
If so, how can I unlock and erase these tablets. Any help would be appreciated as I don’t know what confidential information, if any is stored on them.
I would rather recycle than destroy them if I can. I’d like to find them a good home.

as far as i am aware
you cannot restore an Android tablet to factory defaults without the google account linked to the tablet. you might be able to just go into factory data reset,, but that depends on the tablet manufacturer. on Nexus devices, go to settings>backup and restore> factory > data reset. this might work. the last version of android I used was 7.1.1, on a Nexus 6, from 2014. so it might be different where those settings are. and because Android is highly modified by every manufacturer, you might have to go hunding for the relevant setting(s).
