Help improve wattpad
Hello everyone! I’m hoping some of you would like to help. The past few weeks I’ve been speaking with the accessibility team of a book app called Wattpad, And they are super excited to try and improve their accessibility!
They are looking for people to help use, review, comment, and even speak with, in order to figure out how they could make their app easier to use. They are extremely nice And I have enjoyed speaking with them.
If you would like to speak with them directly, let me know! I’ll copy the most recent email and put it below. Hopefully things will be Slowly and steadily improving! I’m super happy that they are so willing to hear from the community.
As Jaime mentioned, my name is Leslie, and I'm a Senior User Experience Researcher at Wattpad.
Part of my job is making sure that Wattpad is enjoyable for all users.
We're very appreciative of the time and insight you shared with Jaime. We've have taken it to heart.
Thanks to hearing stories like yours, we're going to be making some big changes to make Wattpad more accessible.
To accomplish this goal, we have to begin including users of all abilities in our research. We haven't been great at being inclusive with research, and it's time for a change. I'm hoping you'll be a part of it.
I wondered if you might be willing to help me in coming up with a list of users with visual impairments that might be willing to take part in future research with us?
If you're interested, please let me know. It would be an honour to work with you.
All the best,
Hi, I love tap by Wattpad! I think it's more accessible than Wattpad app.
I am so happy that they are really trying to focus on making their main app more accessible! They seem super enthusiastic, and I can’t wait to see what they can do. But I hope I can give them a few helping hands from here!
Count me in! I'm a tester for Habitica too and I love being able to give feedback that makes things easier for all of us. I haven't used Wattpad before but I'm about to start.
I've written stories on Wattpad before. Great to see that they're trying to improve accessibility.
Maybe have them join the site as well as a developer...
I’ve been sick for the past few days, so thank you for being so patient! As soon as I’m feeling a little better I will definitely let the beta developer know that you guys are interested in lending a hand.
