I have experienced this bug as well with my Mantis. Out of curiosity, just verified that the speech does also unmute with an apple bluetooth keyboard. So not specific to the Mantis. Interestingly, if speech is muted and Mantis is connected, changing the roter with the 2 finger screen gesture does not unmute speech.
When using the Mantis braille display and changing the rotor setting with up and left or up and right arrow, speech will unmute itself if muted
The title says it all.
Steps to reproduce
While VoiceOver is running and the Mantis q40 is connected, mute speech with VO+s. Now, press up and left arrows or up and right arrows together to change the Rotor. Speech will be turned back on.

How often the bug occurs
Press VO+S again to turn speech off after each time you change the Rotor. Yeah, I know, major productivity killer.
Apple feedback #
Intresting. Thank you for replying! I am not noticing this on my iClever keyboard, but I will try another keyboard over the weekend and update the bug. Thanks again for the reply!
The keyboard I was testing with is an older Apple magic keyboard.
