Description
When using the emoji search facility to find and insert an emoji in to a text field, when you double-tap on the desired emoji it will be inserted but rather than announcing the title of the emoji, VoiceOver will speak the last character that you typed in to the search field.
Steps to reproduce
- Ensure that VoiceOver is enabled.
- Navigate to any text field.
- Place VoiceOver focus in to the text field so that the onscreen keyboard is displayed.
- Switch to the emoji keyboard.
- Place VoiceOver focus in to the emoji search field.
- Type a search string.
- Double tap on one of the suggested search results.
You would expect for the emoji to be inserted in to the text field and for the title of the emoji to be spoken by VoiceOver.
What actually happens is that the emoji will be inserted, but what VoiceOver announces is the last character that you typed in to the emoji search field. So, if you typed “hello”, VoiceOver will announce “o”.
