When performing a VoiceOver Find with a braille display, after typing text, pressing enter will not carry out the search

Category
Braille
Severity
Minor

Description

When using VoiceOver Find with a braille display, searching does not function as expected after typing in text and pressing Enter. This prevents users from being able to effectively find text content using the Space-F shortcut on a braille keyboard.

Steps to reproduce

  1. Connect a braille display to an iOS device and ensure VoiceOver is enabled.
  2. On a Perkins-style braille keyboard, press Space-F to activate VoiceOver Find.
  3. Type in a search query on the braille keyboard and press dot 8.
  4. No search takes place and focus does not move after pressing Enter. The typed query is not actually submitted.

Expected Result:

After typing a search query and pressing dot 8, VoiceOver Find should perform the search and move focus to the found text.

Actual Result:

Pressing dot 8 does nothing after typing in a VoiceOver Find query with a connected braille display. The search is not carried out.
