On elements which are pictorial, but seen by VoiceOver AI image descriptions as an "item" rather than an "image" (for example: App icons on the Home Screen, Video thumbnails in YouTube, and Podcast artwork on the Now Playing screen in Overcast), VoiceOver's AI description says "A solid black rectangle filling the entire frame."
Enable VoiceOver.
Find an element which is pictorial, but is seen by VoiceOver AI image descriptions as an "item" rather than an "image".
For example: App icons on the Home Screen, Video thumbnails in YouTube, and Podcast artwork on the Now Playing screen in Overcast.
On the outside screen: Use VoiceOver's AI image description feature, introduced in iOS 27, to request an item description. VoiceOver provides a detailed description of the item.
On the inside screen: Use VoiceOver's AI image description feature, introduced in iOS 27, to request an item description. VoiceOver says "A solid black rectangle filling the entire frame."
Use the outside screen or, if appropriate to the situation, request a full screen description instead.
