The following editing commands do not work using a braille displays keyboard on Humanware firmware version 2.0 for the NLS E-Reader: select all, copy, paste, undo and cut

Category
Braille
Severity
Minor

Description

Please note. This problem is not present even under iOS 16.0 unless running a firmware version older than 2.1 of the braille display. In cases like the Humanware NLS E-Reader where there is currently no version 2.1, this problem still persists as outlined below.
These commands no longer work. For Brailliant and Chameleon users, a firmware update to version 2.1 will address this bug. it is not available to the NLS E-Reader devices though which are also produced by Humanware.

Steps to reproduce

Type text and then try performing any of the mentioned functions using the appropriate braille display keyboard command. Note that this behavior appears to only happen when a braille display running Humanware firmware version 2.0 is installed. These commands will not work on another braille display if it is paired at the same time as the device running this firmware.

Workaround

You can use the edit rotor to work around not having them available. Use the text selection rotor feature to select all. Command A will not work since the command followed by a letter function is also not working.
