We invite you to join AppleVis this September for coverage of Apple's product announcements and software releases.

Apple has announced an 'awe dropping' media event for September 9, 2025.

At the event, Apple is widely expected to announce multiple new models of the iPhone and Apple Watch; with the possibility that other products may be refreshed as well. In addition, Apple is also expected to announce the release dates for Version 26 of the operating systems for all of its platforms; including for the iPhone, iPad, Mac, and Apple Watch.

You can watch the event live on Apple's Website at 10:00 a.m. Pacific Time/17:00 UTC on September 9. Our past experience has been that the live stream on Apple's website, as well as in the TV app, offers audio description. To enable Audio Description on iOS and iPadOS, go to Settings > Accessibility > Audio Descriptions, and be sure the toggle is set to "on." This setting can also be enabled on macOS by going to System Settings > Accessibility > Audio descriptions, and toggling the "Play audio descriptions when available" switch on.

Alex Hall will be returning to AppleVis to offer his take on the event, and as always, it promises to be an entertaining and thought-provoking read. Look for Alex's recap to be posted late evening U.S. time on Apple Event Day. We will also be recording a roundtable about all things 'Awe Dropping' and hope to have that released sometime later in the week. As has been the case with all recent episodes of our podcast, the roundtable will include a transcript.

In addition to our coverage of Apple's September 2025 event, we also have a wealth of content in the works for the upcoming '26' software releases; including our traditional lists of new and fixed bugs in iOS/iPadOS and macOS (augmented, with much gratitude, by reports from members of our community through our Community Bug Program), written and podcast content on what's new and changed in these releases, and perhaps a surprise or two along the way. We hope you'll join us throughout the month and are looking forward to sharing our content with the community.

What are you hoping Apple will announce at the September event? What are you looking forward to in the '26' software releases? Please do let us know by posting a comment.

As far as I understood it, there will be versions for sim only nations which have a smaller battery. They made a distinction that no sim increases battery by two hours.

The greater transparency and upgraded sound and the fact that they are amazing for us when out in public and need to get audio feedback on things around us caused me to pull the trigger.

The phones, aside from battery, don't really matter to me. The magsafe battery is interesting but seems that it is only for the air. I'm surprised that they didn't make it available for other phones, but maybe they want the bigger batteries on iPhone 17 to be a reason to upgrade. A big flat magsafe battery does sound appealing though.

But I'm actually excited about cameras again in my life, with the 17 Pro. I really, really hope Apple's Visual Intelligence eventually helps with native image descriptions that can be questioned, like with other AI. And this isn't completely out of reach of my budget, like the Sony A7IV, which would have to be paired with an iPhone to get AI descriptions anyway.

I've actually already added both of these items to my bag on the Apple store app, but am going to at least try to make myself wait a bit longer to place the order. The airpod updates sound promising, and 5G and better battery life on the ultra 3 watch appeal to me as well. I'll give them credit for trying to make the new phones sound interesting, but I'm very happy with my ultramarine iPhone 16, so it was easy to ignore all the phone related stuff.
