Seeing Assistant Go (iOS, Free)

The Seeing Assistant Go app supports the spatial orientation of blind and visually impaired people. It provides information about the surroundings using synthetic speech, sounds, vibrations and pointing in the direction of the top of the phone.

Useful when travelling, but also for getting to know the area of unfamiliar places you are about to visit.

  • Are you travelling by bus and want to know which stop it has just stopped at or how far it is to the one you want to get off at?
  • Which streets is the taxi taking you down?
  • Where is the nearest grocery shop to the guesthouse where you are going to spend your holiday?
  • Is the beach really as close from there as the owner claims?
  • Which stop is closest to the address you are going to and what is the best route to get there?
  • Do you want to save places that are important to you in the app so you can easily return to them?

Two app modes let you customise the app to your liking:

  • Basic mode for beginners, without unnecessary functions that you are not going to use anyway.
  • Advanced mode: a lot of settings and functions, without which it is difficult to imagine a meaningful navigation app for the blind.

App Store Release Notes for July 2025 Updates
Version 5.0.10 (July 29, 2025)

CHANGES

  • Late game map navigation has been streamlined. You can now always reach your current objective or a leveling quest in one step, even across regions.

BUG FIXES

  • Fixed a bug where the quest list for locations would sometimes take a moment to appear correctly, or have the incorrect state. This could also occur if the current activity completed while the screen is displayed.
  • Help pages in the Help screen are now in alphabetical order rather than a random order on launch.
  • Descriptions of secondary attributes in the Hero screen have been updated so that they are accurate.
  • Fixed issue where music from other apps would be stopped even when music was disabled in game.
  • Fixed issue where in game music would stop when switching from bluetooth back to the device speaker.
  • Fixed minor bug where the quest reward screen could inadvertently be displayed in an overlay screen.
  • Corrected various typos reported by players.
Version 5.0.9 (July 14, 2025)

CHANGES

  • Increased drop rates for journal entries and quest items from Chapter 2 onwards.
  • Improved overlay screens presented from the map screen to use more screen space and support swipe down to dismiss.
  • Accessibility: All screens now support the VoiceOver escape gesture (Z gesture). Swipe with two fingers in a Z shape to go back or dismiss the current screen.
  • Overlay screens now have a close button in the top right corner, matching the design of popups, instead of using the back button in the top left.
  • Travel popup text has been updated to clearly indicate when requirements for unlocking a path have been met, rather than simply enabling the travel button.
  • Legendary item base drop chance is no longer reduced by the number of unlocked journal entries in the associated Legend. Like other drops, the chance now increases after each unsuccessful attempt.
  • Legendary items now drop at the level of your highest item in that slot.
  • Legendary items can now be upgraded using an equipped enchanted item.

BUG FIXES

  • Fixed a major issue where map navigation for goals and “What should I do next?” was missing or would loop endlessly. This was most common in the Finale, which requires frequent movement between regions.
  • Applied a fix for quests occasionally failing despite a 100% success chance. Please let us know if this issue persists.
  • Corrected various typos reported by players.

# Bug Fixes

This release focuses on improving charts when there is an extremely small amount of rain forecast for the day. For example, 0.0006” of rain for a particular hour.

  • The chart axis labels for amount of rain could all be zero, which was very confusing. More significant digits are allowed now to prevent this from happening.
  • The amount of rain for each individual hour in the RuleMark that appears when you perform a long press gesture on a chart could be confusing for the same reason.
