Description of App

Please note: to set up Telephone and make calls you need a valid account with a SIP provider.

Telephone is a VoIP program which allows you to make phone calls over the internet. It can be used to call regular phones via any appropriate SIP provider. If your office or home phone works via SIP, you can use that phone number on your Mac anywhere you have decent internet connection.

Features:

  • Address Book contacts autocomplete.
  • Sending of tone signals (just press numbers on the keyboard during a call).
  • Mute.
  • Hold.
  • Transfer.
  • Call waiting.

Thanks to the person who submitted this app.

It works perfectly, and is a joy to use.

Only thing I found when setting up, and this is by no means an accessibility thing, is that you log into the account with Telephone using your SIP ID, and not your username. If your account says unavailable when you sign in, it's because you've not used your SIP ID.

Also, with sip gate.co.uk (my SIP provider), you get given a different password for your account SIP-side than for your login to the website.

Lovely little app with a whole bunch of keystrokes defined.

It's not scriptable with AppleScript, but no one cares! :-)

Cheers,

I am also having the same issue. Now that I know that my password is different than the one used to sig up, how does one start over with the account log in?
Thanks
