I tried many weather apps and consider this the prime option for complete and easy to use weather including local condition sampling stations around me. VoiceOver works very well on this app. The only thing it's missing is push notifications for severe weather. I purchased the paid version as I enjoyed it so much.

I liked that weather bug had a version for Canada. I too, wish it had weather alerts for storms, etc, but perhaps if we "bug", the developers they'll do that in a future update. Never know until we ask! I find it extremely accessable for the parts that we can actually use, bar the maps,of course.

As of 1/7/2012, accessibility of this app is still rock solid. This one is kneck and kneck with Weather Alert USA in terms of the best weather apps I've tried...both apps have their own "sweet spots."

Please note that the paid version of Weatherbug called the Weatherbug Elite has been upgraded to version 2.0. Unfortunetly, it is no longer accessible. As of today this free version has not changed but beware when there is a new version.

The time has come. Version 2.00 has now been rolled out in the free version. As mentioned above with the Weatherbug Elite. Unfortunately, the app is no longer as accessible as it once was. Listen to the Weatherbug Podcast on this site to show you how to make it more accessible for your device.

WeatherBug version 2.02 is out, and it appears as though a lot of the accessibility issues introduced in version 2.00 have been addressed.  There are little things, obviously, but it needs to be said: bravo to the developers for going the extra mile to make their app accessible!

They have made more changes in how the Current tab is presented. I believe it is a better update and made the alignments a bit easier to navigate around. Still highly recommended by me for wanting great details about many things you want to know about weather. For those that just want a very basic weather app check out the Check The Weather app which I also highly recommend.

What's New in Version 2.2

-NEW User interface refreshed
-NEW Spark lightning alerts
-NEW Enhanced usability
-NEW Improved user interface
-NEW Home screen tiles for quick navigation to map and lightning alerts

While this app was once accessible, the recent updates in my opinion have made it unusable to voiceover users. I was just trying to get an hourly forecast and couldn't seem to get even the current conditions.

You can't get current conditions. Sticking with forecast now which is completely accessible.

Unfortunetly this has taken a step backward in terms of being accessible. So the page now reflect the current accessibility of the app.

What's New in Version 3.1

• NEW Universal app for iPhone and iPad
• NEW Spotlight news section on iPad
• NEW 10 day forecast
• NEW Thunderstorm probability in Hourly forecast
• NEW Day selection buttons in Hourly forecast
• Stability and performance enhancements

Unfortunetly, whith the bran NEW UI interface has only made things less useful for the visuall impaired community. It had once been one of my most favorite weather app. Sadly that is not the case for some time. There are some unlabel buttons with in the app. Missing elements. Poorly label buttons and so much more. Perhaps, I am missing someting but the Push Notification area I was unable to set up. Along with other issues. So I know in the past this developer has tried to make this ore accessible for us. I hope that they will continue to do so and improve things for us to use.

What's New in Version 3.5
•Refreshed user interface
•Revamped Spark lightning alerts and map
•Added Recent & Local photo albums
•Ability to share WeatherBug & Spark with your friends and family
•Added Lifestyle forecasts at-a-glance page
•Added Cold & Flu Lifestyle section
•Added 64-bit application support

Try WeatherBug Elite. It is not the best due to its not-so-clean interface but I just checked and it has not been updated recently. Perhaps it is easier to navigate than its free companion.

Unfortunately, WeatherBug Elite is no longer available. In the past, WeatherBug and WeatherBug Elite have been updated around the same time for each version number, but it doesn't look like WeatherBug Elite is around any more.

Really? Now I am curious why. That makes no sense. I am glad I did not delete it.

I have a feeling they probably didn't make enough money on the elite version on iPhone to support continuing it. They still have an iPad version, though, so perhaps they have features (my guess is graphics) that lend themselves better to the larger screen.
