Description of App

Gemini is a new, collaboratively designed internet protocol, which explores the space in between gopher and the web, striving to address (perceived) limitations of one while avoiding the (undeniable) pitfalls of the other.

Gemini Browser support features of web browsers, but brings them to Gemini protocol.

Accessibility Comments

The app works very well. The app is a web browser, using Safari's engine, so headings, links and such read fine. Links are prefixed by an right arrow, but that will be removed in the next version, according to the developer.

VoiceOver Performance

VoiceOver reads all page elements.

Button Labeling

All buttons are clearly labeled.

The app is fully accessible with VoiceOver and is easy to navigate and use.

Other Comments

Gemini is an Internet protocol to create sites that are nearly plain text, having only paragraphs, headings, links, block quotes, and preformatted blocks. Gemini browsers, then, allow one to read such simple but refreshingly accessible content. Elaho is one such browser, allowing you to read Gemini content. Elaho also tries to strip out any ASCII art on the page, leaving you with any description provided by the document writer. You can find more about Gemini at https://gemini.circumlunar.space/ which also contains some sites using Gemini already.
