Accessibility Comments

AppleVis Editorial Team Note:
As of 1.6.9 the accessibility for VoiceOver users has dramatically improved and 98% accessible and easy to use.

Original Poster Note:
This app, as of right now, is useable but far from the best one for VoiceOver users. For example, the home timeline behaves more like Mastodon in the web browser does, with each element separate (username, content, replies/favs/boost buttons etc.). The rotor isn't used and there are also some mislabeled/unlabeled buttons. But it is quite useable at least for basic tasks.

VoiceOver Performance

VoiceOver reads most page elements.

Button Labeling

Most buttons are clearly labeled.

Usability

There are some minor accessibility issues with this app, but they are easy to deal with.

Other Comments

This app is free, open-source, and written in Swift. It's also compatible with iPads.

Accessibility has improved significantly

The accessibility of this app has greatly improved. I am a new Mastodon user but everything appears to be labeled and well organized.

I have switched to Ice Cubes

After reading the accessibility review on here, I completely switched to Ice Cubes. It also works on Macs with M1 and M2-based processors, however, navigating around the interface is a bit confusing, but navigating on the iPhone is much simpler. Accessibility will improve over time. .
