Lane Defender: Haptic Arcade

Category

Description of App

Lane Defender is a minimalist, haptic-first arcade game you can play with your eyes closed. Enemies approach in one of three lanes. Distinct haptic patterns tell you which lane. As they get closer, the cues speed up and end in a final steady rumble. Tap left, center, or right at the right moment to shoot. Miss, and you lose a life.

Designed for both blind and sighted players, Lane Defender keeps the visuals clean while making every cue felt. Voice announcements are optional and completely under your control.

Highlights

Haptic-first gameplay: distinct lane tactons, accelerating approach ticks, and a final one-second rumble before impact

Direct-touch control: tap the left, center, or right side of the screen to shoot that lane

Optional speech: choose Off, Critical only, or Full announcements for hits, lives, score, and game over

Works with or without VoiceOver: the game board accepts direct touch; rotor actions expose Start/Stop, Speak Status, and Training

Training and onboarding: practice each lane’s pattern and timing before playing

Adaptive difficulty: generous timing early on, then shorter windows and faster approaches as you score

New mechanics as you improve: occasional double threats after higher scores, rare triple threats later, and extra lives at milestones

Five-second pause after a hit: clear feedback and time to reset

High score tracking
